picWatson & Sole (W&S) have been working in the Building Industry for over 35 years. Applying our knowledge and feedback from Building and Facilities Managers and our experience managing and producing record documentation, we have developed a unique software tool called INTELI-SCAN.
This is the latest development of INTELI-SCAN and builds upon the years of success of INTELI-SCAN LAN.

INTELI-SCAN contains the Building and Project Record Documentation in an easy to use database, including the following documents:

  • Building Information
    (Health & Safety File, BREEAM & L2 Log Book)
  • Asset Register
  • System and Element Documentation
  • CAD Schematics & Record Drawings
  • Manufacturers Literature and Drawings
  • BMS Controls Strategy Documents and Graphics
  • Testing and Commissioning Results

Throughout the duration of a new build, fit out or refurbishment project, W&S manage all parties to ensure quality record documents are presented in a consistent format within INTELI-SCAN. The management process also enables W&S to monitor the documents so that only information pertinent to the particular project are included within the database.

SEARCH FEATURES

INTELI-SCAN provides the user with structured data and extensive search facilities. The INTELI-SCAN key word search feature gives quick access to all of the documents and data groupings.

INTELI-SCAN is unique in the Building Industry by providing full search engine capabilities in a "Google" like manner allowing the user to search for information with a simple word or phrase. For users that require a more advanced approach, additional search features are provided with extensive filters and user definable grouping of data.

INTELI-SCAN has a structured data arrangement whereby documents are all associated with systems, authors and projects. This allows the user to search for and group information by these key document characteristics.

DOCUMENT MANAGEMENT FEATURES
In addition INTELI-SCAN provides all the necessary features for ensuring the information base is kept up to date through all changes made to the building by providing:

  • Documentation Project Management and progress reporting for Base Build, Refurbishment and all Fit Out Projects
  • Online authoring, updating and amendment of the documents
  • Version control
  • Commenting and approval of documents
  • Online viewing

The INTELI-SCAN approach is distinctive in the way it ensures records are updated for fit outs rather than providing stand alone document sets that duplicate and supersede information from previous projects within a building. In this way the end user is guaranteed to be reading the current information for their building.

INTELI-SCAN does, however, allow project users to see their subset of data that relates only to the project they are contributing to. This simplifies the process of producing the documents for the fit outs and ensures data security and privacy.

TECHNICAL INFRASTRUCTURE AND SUPPORT
INTELI-SCAN takes full advantage of the Internet and its familiar functionality. INTELI-SCAN is developed using:

  • Microsoft IIS and Indexing Service
  • Online View and Mark up Tool
  • Client Browsers

INTELI-SCAN is hosted on W&S Servers located in a state-of-the art data centre. The Benefits of this are excellent service levels, secure backup and business continuity planning.
